Summer Recreational Swim Team

The Ahwatukee “Tidal Waves” is a summer recreational swim team for ages 5 to 18 years old. Participation in our swim program teaches the sport of swimming in a relaxed and fun environment! Our highly qualified coaches strive to make this a positive and memorable experience for all swimmers on the team.

Tidal Waves

Ages 5–8 Years

The goal is for all Tidal Wave swimmers to become proficient in all four strokes as well as learn sound workout habits.

Junior Group

Ages 10 - 12 Years

The focus is training the individual goals of each swimmer whether it's competitive, cross-training, or looking to join!

Senior Group

Ages 13 - 18 Years

The focus is to provide a summer non-competitive conditioning program to promote wellness as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle outside of the pool. Our highly qualified coaches strive to make this a positive experience for all swim team members!

Registration for new swimmers can begin once the swimmer completes their evaluation and is approved by the coach.

45-Minute Practices

Regular Season Practice Schedule:

6 years and under: T, TH 2:00–3:00pm

7-8 years: T, TH 3:00–4:00pm, or 4:00–5:00pm

9–10 years: M, W, F, 3:30–4:30pm or 4:30–5:30pm

11 years and up: M, W, F, 8:00–9:00am or 9:00–10:00am

Training fees per swimmer:

Ages 11–18: $231.50

Ages 9–10: $220

Ages 8 and under: $214.50

Annual registration per swimmer:

Ahwatukee Board of Management HOA Resident: $10.00

Non-Resident: $15.00

Second Child Discount: $7.50

All swimmers are required to have fins, goggles, a team swimsuit, a water bottle, and a swim cap for long hair. Mesh bags for equipment organization are recommended.

Cancellation policy: If a participant cannot participate in Tidal Waves Swim Team, the cancellation policy is as follows:

1) if notice is given prior to the first pre-season practice, a full refund for the team fees will be issued,

2) if notice is given after the first pre-season practice but before the first regular season practice, a “credit” to be used on other community center programs will be issued, and

3) if notice is given after the first regular season practice, a refund will not be issued.
